Cookie Policy

Last updated: 2026.

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies, pixels, local storage, and other similar technologies are used on the BARBACOAS EXPRESS website, for what purposes, which third parties are involved, and how users can accept, reject, configure, or withdraw their consent.

1. IDENTIFICATION OF THE EDITOR AND SCOPE OF APPLICATION

The BARBACOAS EXPRESS website is operated, on the online sales channel, by ARTIFLORA HOME & GARDEN, S.L., with NIF B55112916 and registered address at Avda. Castell d’Aro, 110, 17250 Platja d’Aro (Girona), hereinafter, “BARBACOAS EXPRESS”, “the company” or “the editor”.

This Policy applies to browsing barbacoasexpress.com and to those areas of the online store, cart, purchase process, customer account, and connected functionalities where cookies or similar technologies are used under the control of the editor or the providers integrated into the Shopify platform.

Certain third-party services may have their own privacy and cookie policies. When such third parties act through the store, they are identified in this Policy and a reference to their privacy information is provided where relevant.

2. WHAT ARE COOKIES AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES

Cookies are small files or identifiers that a website or an associated service can store or read on the user's device. Among other functions, they allow maintaining a session, remembering a cart, retaining preferences, measuring website usage, or attributing advertising campaign results.

For the purposes of this Policy, the expression "cookies" also includes technologies that perform equivalent or related functions, such as web pixels, tags, browser identifiers, local storage (localStorage), session storage, and certain measurement events sent from the browser or, where applicable, from the server.

Some integrations may transmit events from the server without the need to deposit a cookie on the device. These processing operations are described in this Policy when they are linked to the measurement or tracking of the store, without prejudice to the additional information contained in the Privacy Policy.

3. REGULATORY FRAMEWORK AND CONSENT CRITERION

BARBACOAS EXPRESS applies article 22.2 of Law 34/2002, on information society services and electronic commerce (LSSI), in relation to Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), Organic Law 3/2018 (LOPDGDD), and the criteria published by the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD).

Cookies and technologies strictly necessary to transmit a communication over a network or to provide a service expressly requested by the user can be used without prior consent when the legal exemption requirements are met.

Non-essential technologies—particularly those intended for non-exempt analytics, advertising measurement, personalized advertising, or equivalent tracking—are subject to consent when applicable regulations so require. The acceptance of cookies is independent of the acceptance of the terms of purchase or use of the website.

4. CATEGORIES OF TECHNOLOGIES USED

The technologies used in the store are functionally grouped into the following categories. A single tool may be involved in more than one category when it provides several clearly differentiated functions.

  • Technical or strictly necessary: enable essential functions such as security, session, cart, checkout, authentication, market selection, fraud prevention, and the provision of expressly requested services. When they meet the legal exemption requirements, they can be used without prior consent.
  • Preferences or functionality: remember certain choices or facilitate functions requested by the user. When strictly limited to a choice requested by the user, they may be technical in nature; if used for additional purposes, they will be subject to the appropriate consent regime.
  • Analytics and measurement: allow for aggregated or individualized understanding of how the store is used, measuring performance, detecting errors, analyzing browsing paths, and evaluating results. When not covered by a legal exemption, they require consent.
  • Advertising, attribution, and marketing: allow for campaign measurement, conversion attribution, audience creation, advertising personalization, or the activation of commercial automations. They will be used with the legal basis and consent required in each case.
  • Similar technologies: certain pixels, server events, local storage, or identifiers may not formally take the form of a cookie. They are subject to the same transparency and consent criteria when they access or store information on the device or allow equivalent processing subject to applicable regulations.

5. MANAGEMENT OF CONSENT AND PREFERENCES

The store uses Shopify's Customer Privacy features and its cookie banner. When the banner is displayed, it allows users to accept, reject, or manage cookie preferences. The options to accept and reject are presented equivalently, so that rejecting is no more complex than accepting.

In regions configured to require consent, Shopify manages consent for its tools and for application pixels integrated into its Customer Events system according to the configuration declared by each provider.

Users can later modify their choice by permanently accessing "Cookie Preferences" available in the store. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out prior to such withdrawal.

If cookies or browser storage are deleted, private/incognito browsing is used, or the browser or device is changed, it may be necessary to re-enter preferences.

6. CURRENT TECHNICAL INVENTORY

The following inventory reflects the technologies identified and configured in BARBACOAS EXPRESS as of August 17, 2026. Shopify and application providers may technically modify names, identifiers, or durations through platform updates. BARBACOAS EXPRESS will periodically review this inventory and update the Policy when changes are relevant to user information or consent.

6.1. Shopify – store operation

Shopify provides the e-commerce infrastructure and uses necessary cookies for session, cart, checkout, authentication, security, and store operation. It also has differentiated technologies for analytics and marketing, subject to the applicable privacy settings.

Technical note: Shopify announced the removal from merchant storefronts of _tracking_consent, _landing_page, and _orig_referrer from September 2025, and of _shopify_s and _shopify_y from January 2026. Therefore, they are not included here as current store cookies, although historical documentation or third-party pages may still mention them.

6.2. Google & YouTube – measurement and advertising

BARBACOAS EXPRESS has the "Google & YouTube" application pixel active in Shopify Customer Events, with Web and Server transmission and "Optimized" data access. The integration can be used for conversion measurement, analytics, campaign attribution, and advertising functions according to the Google services effectively linked to the account.

When the configuration includes Google Analytics 4, Google documents the use of first-party cookies such as _ga and _ga_<identifier>, with a default duration of up to 2 years, to distinguish users and maintain session status. When advertising connections with Google Ads exist, additional Google measurement or advertising identifiers may be involved, including Google domains and associated services.

In regions where consent is required, Shopify integrates consent management with Google Consent Mode v2. The use of data for personalized advertising is conditional on valid consent when applicable regulations so require.

6.3. Microsoft Clarity – behavioral analytics

BARBACOAS EXPRESS uses Microsoft Clarity to analyze website interaction through behavioral metrics, heatmaps, and visual reconstructions of sessions. Clarity does not record video of the screen, but rather a technical reconstruction of interactions based on HTML and recorded actions.

In Shopify, the Microsoft Clarity pixel appears as "Always active" and with "Not required" pixel permission, so the code can run even if the user has not accepted analytics. However, Microsoft applies Consent Mode in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland and documents that, without valid consent, Clarity functions in a limited way and does not set Clarity's persistent cookies; after obtaining the corresponding consent, it can enable its full functionality.

Microsoft currently reports different retention periods depending on the type of Clarity data. Session reconstructions are generally kept for 30 days, and certain aggregated data or marked sessions may be kept for longer periods according to the provider's configuration and current documentation.

6.4. Connectif – automation, segmentation and marketing

BARBACOAS EXPRESS has Connectif integration active via Web pixel in Shopify Customer Events with "Optimized" access, in addition to the integrated extension in the theme. Connectif is used to collect traffic and navigation information and for automation, segmentation, personalization, and marketing communications when applicable.

Connectif's official integration with Shopify documents, among other data, browsing activity, visited products, cart and purchases, and, when the contact is identified or the functionality requires it, data such as email, name, surname, and newsletter subscription status.

Connectif may use first-party cookies, local storage, tags, and other identifiers. The specific name and duration of these identifiers may depend on the version and technical configuration of the integration. The applicable purpose is subject to the privacy preferences and consent configured in Shopify and the provider's terms.

6.5. Judge.me Reviews – reviews and associated analytics

BARBACOAS EXPRESS uses Judge.me Reviews to display and manage customer ratings and reviews. The Judge.me pixel is active in Shopify Customer Events with "Always Active" access at the technical data level.

The privacy settings of the pixel itself, verified in Shopify, expressly require permission for "Analytics". Therefore, the analytical collection of the pixel is conditioned on the granting of the corresponding permission in regions where consent applies. Shopify also shows that, according to the configuration declared by the provider, the data collected by this pixel does not qualify as "data sale."

Judge.me documents the use of session, preference, and security cookies and technologies such as tags, scripts, and beacons to provide and analyze its service. Specific identifiers may vary depending on active features and service version.

6.6. Stok: Back in Stock Preorders – availability notifications

BARBACOAS EXPRESS uses Stok: Back in Stock Preorders to offer restock notifications, waitlists, and associated features. Stok's Web pixel is active in Shopify Customer Events with "Optimized" access.

The official application listing on Shopify indicates that the app may access, to perform its functions, device and activity data such as geolocation, IP address, browser, operating system, browsing behavior, and customer identifier, in addition to the data that the user voluntarily provides to request notifications, such as name, email, or phone number.

The entry of data to request an availability notification is treated as a specific user request. It does not, by itself, imply consent to receive general commercial communications other than that functionality, unless a separate authorization is requested and obtained when necessary.

6.7. Theme local storage – recently viewed products

The Enterprise theme used by BARBACOAS EXPRESS includes a technical functionality that can save the key "cc-recently-viewed" with identifiers of up to the last 12 visited products in the browser's local storage. This information is used locally for recently viewed product functionalities and does not, by itself, contain name, email, or other identifying data provided by the user.

Local storage may persist until the user deletes it, the browser clears it, or the application itself replaces it. It can be deleted from the browser's storage or privacy options.

6.8. Technical applications without identified tracking

The technical review of the theme also identified integrations such as Smart SEO and Easify Product Attachments. As of the date of this Policy, they have not been included as tracking technologies because no purpose of analytics, advertising, or visitor profiling derived from their active integration has been identified. If their behavior changes in future versions, this Policy will be revised.

7. THIRD-PARTY PROVIDERS AND INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS

The use of third-party technological services may imply that certain data or identifiers are processed by providers established or with infrastructure outside the European Economic Area. When the transfer is made by a third party integrated into the store, BARBACOAS EXPRESS refers to the information and guarantees published by said provider, without prejudice to the contractual obligations corresponding to the company as data controller.

When a third party performs international transfers, information about the destination country, the adequacy decision, standard contractual clauses, or other applicable guarantees can be consulted in the privacy information of the corresponding provider. BARBACOAS EXPRESS reasonably reviews integrated providers and maintains contractual documentation available to the extent required.

8. REVOCATION OF CONSENT AND DELETION OF COOKIES

Users can withdraw their consent granted for non-essential categories at any time through the store's "Cookie Preferences" panel. The withdrawal mechanism is offered simply and permanently.

Withdrawal prevents new operations subject to consent under the terms supported by the platform. Some cookies already stored may remain until their deletion or technical expiration. When necessary, they can be deleted using browser options or tools provided by the third party itself.

The deletion of necessary cookies, the general disabling of browser storage, or the blocking of essential technologies may prevent or degrade functions such as the cart, login, checkout, market selection, or payment methods. BARBACOAS EXPRESS cannot guarantee the correct functioning of functions that technically depend on technologies that the user has blocked on their own device.

9. BROWSER SETTINGS

In addition to the store's preferences panel, most browsers allow you to consult, block, or delete cookies and site data. Settings are made from the browser's privacy or security options.

Google Chrome – manage cookies

Mozilla Firefox – cookies and site data

Microsoft Edge – delete and manage cookies

Apple Safari – manage cookies and site data

Browser settings do not necessarily replace the store's consent panel: both tools can act on different layers. If a user deletes cookies or local storage, it may be necessary to reconfigure their preferences on a subsequent visit.

10. MINORS

BARBACOAS EXPRESS does not specifically target its online store or its tracking technologies to children under 14 years of age. It is not intended to use analytics or marketing cookies to consciously profile children under that age. When a specific functionality requires consent regarding personal data of a minor, the legally required safeguards and verification requirements will be applied.

↑ Back to index

11. AUTOMATED DECISIONS AND PROFILING

Analytics, marketing, and automation tools may use browsing information to segment audiences, measure campaigns, personalize content, or activate commercial communications when there is a valid legal basis. These operations are not used, by themselves, to make exclusively automated decisions that produce legal effects on the user or significantly affect them in a similar way.

Additional information on profiling, commercial communications, and personal data processing can be found in the Privacy Policy.

12. UPDATE OF THIS POLICY

Web technologies change frequently. Shopify, Google, Microsoft, and integrated applications may modify cookie names, durations, domains, parameters, or technical mechanisms without necessarily implying a change in the purpose of processing.

BARBACOAS EXPRESS will periodically review the configuration of cookies, pixels, and similar technologies. When relevant changes occur in the purposes or in third parties that require a new user decision, the information will be updated and consent will be requested again when appropriate.

As good practice, consent settings may be renewed periodically, especially when relevant changes occur or a prolonged period has passed since the last choice.

13. RELATIONSHIP WITH THE PRIVACY POLICY

When cookies or similar technologies allow the processing of personal data, the terms of the BARBACOAS EXPRESS Privacy Policy also apply, which provides information, among other things, on the controller, purposes, legal bases, retention, recipients, rights, and contact methods.

You can consult the BARBACOAS EXPRESS Privacy Policy for more information.
