It's possible to prepare pizzas on our barbecue without a pizza stone, directly on the grill, using baking paper. However, it's also very likely that the dough will end up burnt and the toppings raw.

Pizza stones move the dough away from direct heat, absorbing the heat and distributing it evenly across the entire surface of the stone. This gives us that tender yet crispy touch that distinguishes any pizza from a well-prepared one.
