Sometimes it may seem like the barbecue has lost power , that it's "not firing," that you need to start changing parts.
However, many times the problem is simply that the burners are clogged, and this can be solved with a thorough cleaning of the burners.
This cleaning kit will help us clean the different parts of the inside of our barbecue.
If you still have your " Gas Grill Owner's Guide," you can refer to it for the steps to take to properly maintain your grill. You'll see how simple it is.
It involves removing the dirt embedded inside the tub, first with the help of a scraper like this one included in the kit, and second with warm soapy water and a sponge.
As for the burners, they should be cleaned with a punch, hole by hole. Use an appropriately sized punch, or you could enlarge the holes.
The soft bristle brush (included in the kit) is used to clean the most delicate part of the burner, the spider net.
This stainless steel net protects the combustion air opening of the burner tube, preventing spiders or other insects from accessing the tube and nesting inside.
There are several symptoms that indicate that this network is clogged:
- Slow, yellow flames
- The barbecue does not reach sufficient temperature
- Uneven heat distribution
- One or more burners do not light
If these symptoms occur, we should check the condition of the spider net and clean it with a soft bristle brush, such as the one included in this kit.
Therefore, we recommend doing a thorough cleaning periodically , at least once or twice a year. For example, at the beginning of spring and at the end of summer, to start and finish the barbecue season well.
